What Are Flowers, Really?

Let’s be honest! flowers are more than just pretty things standing in a vase, looking photogenic next to your morning coffee.

They are emotions!

They are color-coded chaos and quiet comfort in the same breath.

They are how we say I’m sorry, I love you, or I’m thinking of you without needing a single word.

Flowers = Feelings

At their core, flowers are the universal language of feeling.

Born from earth, kissed by the sun, and designed by nature with more drama than a soap opera. They bloom, they wilt, they come back again.

Just like us.

Petals with Personality

When I design with flowers, I don’t just look at the color or shape.

I look for the story hiding in the petals.

  • A crinkled edge might speak of resilience.

  • A bold bloom, of confidence.

  • A soft curve, of quiet strength.

This is the soul of floristry, not just arranging flowers, but arranging feelings.

“Flowers are the emotions we forgot how to say out loud.”

This space — The Flower Edit — is where I’ll share what blooms can teach us.

Not just in design, but in life.

From floral techniques to emotional storytelling, we’re going beyond petals here.

So… what are flowers?

They are joy.

They are grief.

They are wild declarations and whispered memories.

And sometimes, they’re just what your soul needs to see on a Tuesday.

Let’s bloom into it together.

With love,

Mrs. Curly Florist
